DrawNET IV

After around 15 years, a new version is on the way!

DrawNET is a customizable graphical user interface, that allows to create graph-based models. In particular it allows to define modelling formalisms, composed of arcs and nodes. Each node and arc can have its own visual appareance, and set of properties that can be set by the user. The tool allows the user to draw models in the corresponding formalism and to send them to proper solution tools that will produce results from the given description.

DrawNET started in 2002, and had three editions, with DrawNET III dated around 2007. That version was written in JAVA, and used XML to describe both formalisms and models. A web page about this version has been put on-line and can be found HERE

DrawNET IV was slowly developed in background, and now it has reached a maturity for a new release. Differently from its predecessors, it is written in Javascript, and it is enclosed inside an HTML web page, exploiting canvases to handle the visual interaction. It uses JSON files to describe both formalisms and models.

A new version will be released here here: please keep in touch!
